Embracing Summer Solstice

Are you ready to embrace the longest day of the year? Ready or not, summer solstice will be greeting us on Saturday, June 20th at 21:44 UTC, which marks the start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere and the moment when the sun is at its highest point in the sky. [1] For those of us living north of the equator, our summer will begin in lieu of temperatures associated with our weather forecasts. #summersolstice #equinox #longestdayoftheyear #mostdaylight #highestpointinthesky

There are various cultural traditions in celebrating the summer solstice. Many ceremonies incorporate rituals of fire, herbs and dance while celebrating birth and growth. I have wonderful memories of Sankthansaften in Denmark as it was one of my beloved celebrations while living there. Unforgettable is the deeply moving aerial view of bonfires bespeckling the coastline under a vibrant summer sky, which resisted the darkness of night, when returning to Copenhagen. #traditions #celebration #ceremony #fire #herbs #dance #sankthansaften #denmark #summerskies

The spiritual representation of summer solstice in terms of consciousness, is when we are most present to ourselves. [2] According to Chloe Rain, "summer is a time to engage our Earth connection; and cultivate and deepen our connection to the divine energies all around us." [3] The sustained light of summer solstice serves as fertile ground for unconscious seeds to be unearthed and an ideal opportunity to keenly plant conscious seeds that nourish our souls. #spiritualsignificance #lightandgrowth #seeds #unconsciousseedsunearthed #plantconsciousseedsthatnourishyoursoul #lightnessofmind #lightnessofbeing

Now what will you do to embrace not only the longest day of the year but your soul?

All the best, love & light~

Tammy
